Getting to Capilano Suspension Bridge

How to get to Capilano Suspension Bridge from downtown Vancouver: the park's free shuttle stops and times, the SeaBus and bus 236, fares, and parking (Oct 2026).

Updated October 2026

The easiest way to Capilano Suspension Bridge from downtown Vancouver is the park’s own free shuttle: it runs all year from Canada Place, the Hyatt Regency and the Blue Horizon hotel, takes about 20 minutes and needs no reservation. You show proof of admission for the ride back, so book your entry time first: the park’s ticket is from US$56 a person on GetYourGuide (checked October 2026). By public transport it is the SeaBus and bus 236; by car, about 10 km over the Lions Gate Bridge.

The free shuttle

The park’s shuttle stops at three places downtown:

  • Canada Place, on Canada Place Way between the convention centres;
  • the Hyatt Regency, at its Melville Street entrance;
  • the Blue Horizon hotel, on Robson Street.

It is first come, first served, with no booking, and the ride takes about 20 minutes. From 9 October to 1 November 2026 it leaves Canada Place every 15 to 30 minutes from 9:30 am, the Hyatt until 3:35 pm and the Blue Horizon until 12:25 pm, and the last bus back from the park is at 9 pm. On the late-opening Halloween dates, 23 to 25 October and 30 October to 1 November, extra runs leave Canada Place at 7 and 7:30 pm and the last bus back is at 9:30 pm. The times change with the park’s seasonal hours and the later timetables are on the park’s shuttle page, so check the times for your date there. Bring proof of your ticket for the trip back. The Canada Place stop is at the cruise terminal, and paid guests can leave bags there for the day; the tickets guide has the cruise-day timing and the luggage rules.

SeaBus and bus 236

TransLink’s SeaBus crosses Burrard Inlet from Waterfront station to Lonsdale Quay in about 12 minutes, every 15 minutes in the day and every 10 at peak times. From the Lonsdale Quay bus exchange, bus 236 runs up to the park and on to Grouse Mountain. The park also gives two other routes: bus 232 from Phibbs Exchange to Edgemont Boulevard at Capilano Road, or bus 246 from downtown to Ridgewood Drive at Norcross Way, then a walk north.

Fares (adult, October 2026): a bus trip is always one zone, CA$2.85 on a Compass card or CA$3.50 cash or contactless. The SeaBus is one or two zones depending on the time: two zones, CA$4.20 on Compass or CA$5.10 cash, on weekday daytimes, and one zone after 6:30 pm on weekdays, at weekends and on holidays. A DayPass for all zones is CA$12.55. These are TransLink’s own prices, for residents and visitors alike.

By car

From downtown, the road runs through Stanley Park, over the Lions Gate Bridge and up Capilano Road, about 10 km measured on our map. The park’s lot at 3735 Capilano Road costs CA$9 for up to three hours, paid at the entrance or at the meters, and it fills at busy times.

With a tour

Every tour that includes the bridge picks you up from your hotel. Westcoast Sightseeing's City Highlights and Capilano tour (US$129, checked October 2026) has 19 pickup points downtown, among them Canada Place and the big hotels on Robson and Burrard Streets, and adds Stanley Park, Granville Island and Gastown. The tickets guide lists the others.
