About This Experience

Grouse Mountain is Vancouver’s most visited year‑round natural attraction, located just 20 minutes from downtown. Your admission ticket includes a scenic 8‑minute …

Who It Suits and What to Know

Grouse Mountain’s own admission ticket: a round trip on the Red Skyride or the Blue Grouse Gondola from the base on Nancy Greene Way, and the mountaintop for the whole day, with no reserved time. Rated 4.6 from 856 reviews. The base is about 3.6 km up Capilano Road from the suspension bridge.

Who it suits: anyone adding Grouse Mountain to a Capilano day on their own, by bus 236 or by car. Who should look elsewhere: visitors who want transport included; a combined tour picks you up from your hotel.

What to know before you book:

  • Included. The gondola up and down, the Grizzly Bear Habitat and ranger and owl talks in summer, the Kids Tree Canopy Adventure and the Theatre in the Sky all year, and in winter the snowshoe trails, the sliding zone and the skating pond. The habitat has one grizzly, Coola, since Grinder died in July 2026, and the bears go into their winter den in late November (24 November in 2025).
  • Closed for the season. The lumberjack show is done for summer 2026 and back in summer 2027; Birds in Motion and the Peak Chairlift are closed for the season too, and the mountain’s summer shuttle is not running until summer 2027.
  • Not included. Parking, food, the paid adventures (ziplines, ropes course, paragliding), skiing and rentals.
  • Transitions. October to November and April to May are weather-dependent, and what is open can change; the mountain posts current conditions on its site.

The price is from US$67 a person (checked October 2026), with free cancellation up to 24 hours before. Grouse Mountain and Capilano plans the day with the bridge.
